Saga of the Elf King ReviewBeing an avid fan of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and due to the author's stated inspiration by the work of J.R.R. Tolkien, I was drawn to this book. The author, M.E. Jones, although a newcomer, is sure to be a best seller if this book is any indication of his talent! From the moment I opened the book, I could not put it down until I had completed the read. I can't imagine anyone reading this work and not putting it at or near the top of their list of all time great fantasy novels - and the best is yet to come - as there will be several more volumes to follow the first in this epic saga.
"Answering the Call" is the first book in the series "Saga of the Elf King". The novel, although not overly lengthy at around 250 pages, is extremely engaging from the start. All of the characters - from the humans, elves, and gnomes, to the evil holgs - are masterfully developed. The riveting adventure begins from Chapter 1 and continues throughout - never slowing to allow you to catch your breath!
