The Guardian of Hope ReviewTamara Rivers writes an interesting story of a young girl named Lisa, who embarks on a journey in an entirely new world apart from ours-a place where she faces monsters, traps, and a cute crush on a handsome prince. The story is from a teenage girl's perspective, and thus every thought, action, and word spoken by the young lady comes from an innocent adolescent who sees the Silver Forest with awe and wonder. The book is short-272 pages of dialogue, magic, and sword fighting-however, it grabs the reader's attention and by the end, leaves them wanting more. The characters are delightful and fun, people who you can somehow relate to in your own way. Over the course of the book, they quickly become close to your heart, and you can only hope they survive the dark evil that is fighting against Lisa and her friends.
Recommended mostly for teenagers; however, I have known a few adults who have thoroughly enjoyed the book despite its young target audience. The Guardian of Hope is the first book of a sequel to come, one that will carry its readers through fantastic lands, cultures, and adventures...a refreshing tale for any person to enjoy. The Guardian of Hope OverviewSince his birth seventeen years ago, Dalor has been told he is the Guardian of Hope. The prophecy has been revealed in him, the Diloron Prince, and it is in him that the people place all their hope for survival. Without Dalor they will succumb to the fearsome Lord Daknar Shatana, who threatens to dominant Kana with his growing power and followers of evil. After a 10,000-year-long war, the tension is escalating into what the Dilorons and the Sarjhians believe are the final moments of this battle between good and evil. Dalor's entire life hinges upon the foretold day when he will have to be a savior for his people, a light amidst the darkness, and their last hope against Lord Daknar Shatana, even if the price is his happiness, his dreams, or his life. Racing against time itself as the Sarjhi Lord acquires strength and influence, the Diloron Prince and his guards can only hope that they will find more support against the ever-present and ever-rising evil. And then Lisa, an American teenager, enters Kana. In Book 1 of The Guardian of Hope series, author Tamara Rivers writes of Lisa Sanders's unexpected arrival into Kana and her consequent journey through the enchanting but treacherous Silver Forest along with Prince Dalor Diloron and his guards. Despite her struggle to adapt to this strange world full of dangers, Lisa nevertheless finds herself conflicted between returning home and remaining with her new friends, particularly with her growing crush on Prince Dalor. But will she live long enough to make that choice?
