Blood Magic (Haven Series #5) ReviewEach book in the Haven series is short, so I read the books back to back in order to make one big fantasy book. Because of this, I am rating the whole series as if it was one book. The Haven series is a great read, and a worthy addition to my Kindle library! Fans of the Fantasy genre will love it, as it includes all the things a fantasy fan craves, without becoming stale and predictable. The many races I have come to know and adore/loathe as this 'book' developed are the Riverfolk, Wee folk, Fae, Kindred, Gnomes, Kobolds, Goblins, Merlings, and the Dead. Though the races are many and varied, the plot never becomes too confusing, and I was always able to keep track of what was going on without difficulty. The author manages to make each race separate and best of all, intriguing. My favorite part of the series was the idea of the jewels of power, and seeing how each jewel worked, and what they could do. It was interesting to see how each race was affected by who had which jewel, and to see all the consequences. There was great character development and great race development throughout the series. I enjoyed the characters immensely, though they all have their flaws. There is one thing that I noticed throughout the series, and that was sub par editing (that being said...sorry for any grammar mistakes I've made in this review!). It DID NOT detract from the story in any way, though, so it didn't bother me. I can't wait to read what is next by this author.I definitely recommend this book!
